I talk about how to make sure your non-human character seem like they are not humans

  • Mark the elf :D

  • @cockroach2 yep, it can be just that bad.

  • Ander, is it just me or do dwarves come off as a race that can hate/distrust almost everyone? Also with the fear of water, I don't know if you read the Dragonlance books, but Flint was terrified of water because of him getting flipped over in a boat because Caramon is just too big. And they practically threatened him to get on a boat. I think that fear added depth to Flint as a character, and no matter your race or class, I think everyone should have a fear.

  • @XBurntBProductionsX Fear is a great trait for a character, gives the player something to sell. Yes, I did read some of the dragonlance books. I'm sure you can guess which character is my favorite of them, it is the same one I received on a which character are you test once.

  • Excellent video as always, Ander. I think it's well within the abilities of most role-players to play another race as alien as it should be to humans. However, most role-players are just damn lazy and conform to stereotypes.

  • Great Video. A friend made a game with Orcs and Goblins and really developed his own mythology and racism and even political dynamic to the races including variants of human and the others. It made it really easy to develop a mindset for my character and for others who played that game. I'm so glad someone is talking about this on youtube and getting this point out there.

  • @QuinnSilver I think it has to do with the social aspect of the game, being around people. I'm really a little lost on how some of these people can value their time so lowly to engage in some of the terrible games I've seen.

  • @woodwwad Yeah, I think you are right on that. It is kind of odd to me, that's the whole reason I want to play but it seems a lot of people don't have that approach.

  • @QuinnSilver yeah, the more you play the more bad playing you're likely to see. RPGs aren't the easiest hobbies & they tend to attract a lot of people who really don't seem to want to role-play. & that's Your Main Man!

  • I've seen some people do that. There is this one guy in my group who plays a gnome, it is just terrible. I usually even forget that he's a gnome, wow, how bad is that? Great vid again. The main man, hehehe, I like that.

  • @woodwwad I never thought I would say this : at least we agree on drizzling shit

  • @23penguins32 well, at least you get points there, they are the drizzling shitz.
