Alex playing Chopin's simple, but beautiful prelude in E minor on a yamaha upright in a University of Warwick practise room.

The left hand comes out quite hard in this video as the piano was quite stiff. I also felt having a somewhat faster tempo than usual, fitted the drive and emotion of the piece.

  • MAn, you MUST work on it a lots...no chances to recognize Chopin in what you played!

  • Yes, well I recorded this sometime ago, so I am much better now. However I would take issue that you could not recognize it as Chopin, as clearly it is Chopin's prelude in e minor.

Perhaps you should record it yourself so that I too can 'recognize Chopin'.

  • For sure I will do it...you cannot play Chopin on that way, I am sorry!...

You should feel it first, than you should have the dramaturgical talent to play it well.

I hope you got better, cause I couldn´t ever record such a thing.

    I will do it...for sure!

  • whoa whoa, firstly, please check your rhythm. You're skipping beats off the bat, be careful. But otherwise nice.

  • I first heard this on a movie entitle "Madame X". It was kinda scary as I recall. I think Chopin wrote this shortly before he died, didn't he?

  • I love this recording. Thankyou so much for posting it- it made my week
