Steven projecting his own (past) anxieties there at the end. IF dreams really do hold meaning and IF you interpret this as Johhny's fear to reach his full potential/ be what he's really like out of fear that it will harm/meet dissaproval of his family, reading his desire to fly as supressed homosexuality says more about the person doing the interpretation than the person who's dream it is. Why not throw in a Rorschach test while you're at it?

@Piatasify In season 4 episode 10 Stephen gives an interpretation of all the guests dreams. It did'nt matter what there dream was about the answer was always the same, your gay. A tongue-in-cheek attack at the whole "science".

@xxxScollxxx Yes, but I like to be overly pedantic in honor of the show. Wasn't that with handwriting though, or am I confusing it with another episode?

@Piatasify yeah that was season 7 episode 9 (Gallimaufrey) were they had to guess each others hand writing. Then stephen would Interpret character from style of hand writing, like close lettering is unstable and other such nonsense. Stephen then goes on to say that it's no more believable than astrology.

@Piatasify lol actually no I can't, that would be pretty strange huh. I just googled it . Theres some transcript websites for all the episodes so I was able to find that bit. I actually find it hard to retain alot of the information in an episode, theres so many facts in 30 minutes :)
