Need a Buddy?

This guy started his tenure with us playing Frogger in Union City in January. Lucky for him, our outreach van was out and about, and up he was scooped. When no one came calling to claim this handsome dude, to our adoption center he went.

So here he is - waiting. He's sweet as pie, loves to snuggle, learns tricks and words faster than you can teach em, and adores long walks, hikes, swims, anything with you. Or anything he gets to ride in a car to get to. Cars = love. Frankly hes happy just to hang on the couch and watch the evening news too. The sweet sound of a human voice, paired with a belly scratch just puts him at ease.

Buddy is smart, quick minded and full of zest. Some might even say hes too smart for your average Joe or Mary. He adores meeting everyone, and often gets so frustrated with not being able to get up close, he lets out an arf, a woof or a grumble. Don't mistake this for anything other than what it is - a dog that yearns to be up close and personal and doesnt get what these leash and gate things are doing in his way.

What does this mean for you? Hopefully, that you're someone who really wants to be "into" your dog....go for walks that mean something, where the two of you connect, he hangs on your every word, and follows your every lead. Perhaps you yearn for a dog you can take some agility classes, some tricks classes, or some other type of you-him bonding time....This is the dog for the person that wants to be all up in their dog's life...and vice versa.

Heres the thing about our Buddy Boyhe gets attached. Hes a Cattle Dog. Born and bred to be loyal, listening and ready to ask how high? when asked to jump. He wants to please, protect and stick by his person. Are you ready for a sidekick? A bond like no other? Buddys going to creep into your heart and stick to you like glue.




What does this mean for you? Youve got to be ready to take on the dog that wont hesitate to make you happy, wont think twice about following your lead, and will make your business his business. You are his sheep, and hes loyal to his flock each and every day.

Buddys not a first time dog. But hes the ideal dog for dog people someone who lives & breathes their dog, & will be as loyal & attentive as he will be to you.

Oh wait. Did we mention.Buddy watches TV. For real. Not a glance at the noise & then back to the couch. But full on, sits in front of the set, follows along and keeps his eyes glued to the screen. So if youve got one of them DVD-in-the-mail things goingthis could be your movie night partner.

Buddy just wants to live with someone he can love and adore to pieces.

Ok, so ummm.where is Buddy?

Buddy is hanging out upstairs in the office of an SF/SPCA employee. Hes got his own space, his own crate, and someone to hang out with most of the day. Dont get us wrong we know how marvelous these apartments are in Maddies, and we know how happy all these dogs are to have their roommates and their big sunny windows. But Buddys a different kind of dog, and frankly all this glass, barking and traffic makes a Type-A guy like him a little nervous, and a little frustrated.
(If you really want to know the truth were pretty sure hes just too smart for these digs. He knows there are fun times on the other side of those big glass windows and not being a part of it all is making this Einstein dog bananas)

So hes hanging out in a different kind of luxury suite, with someone who sees his potential at greatness, and is up for sharing her office with a smarty-pants.
