When I was still under the influence of "god' & suffered from the mind-crippling disease known as 'Christianity' I watched this movie & truely admired Sir Thomas' steadfast position on the marriage he saw as immoral.I was moved by his resistance & his non-conformist towards the powers that be.But now years later I've finally seen the light & realized within myself that god cant possibly exist i see this film in a much different light.I find Thomas to be a deplorable self-serving/righteous fool

Scofield's Thomas Moore must be one of the finest screen performances of all time. Unbelievable how the Hollywood studios (this was produced by Columbia) have degenerated since those days to purveyors of shit - obviously refelecting the society of the times.
