irish setter boots are vey good boots, i have had a pair of big buck tracker in the past they were great..danner also makes good boots...i have been looking really hard at the new muck boot line...they are avertised to be comfortable from -40 to 60 degrees...the response i posted before was that i ment if you are moving alot you will not need as much insulation in your boot as oposed to sitting still...i like 600 to 800 grams i just use heavier wool socks cant take back to much built in heat.lol

@tinky626 I've hunted in sub zero temperatures before where I had to sit for hours. That is why I wanted to look at the most insulation I could find. However, after comparing 1000 to 2000 grams I think 1000 will be more than sufficient. I have not had a chance to use these yet in sub zero temps, but I've use them in single digits and my feet have stayed warm.

@MrHurley795 I don't recall mine being too stiff when I'm out in the field. They do support my feet really well.

Those are an excellent choice man. I love Irish Setters. I have Lacrosse as well. I used the Gunflint 200 gram in SD this year on a pheasant hunt for a week. I beat the crap outta those boots. Everything from tripping on barbwire to trudging mudd, and corn stubble. Got em back home, cleaned em up good with some H2O and re sealed em with "sno seal" and voila good as new! I also have a pair of the Irish Setter Tammaracks...very nice. Just bought another pair of 1000gr. Gunflint...perfect boots.

@MrAnimalControl Yep, I've been trekking around in -5 temps in 12" of snow the past few weeks and my feet have stayed warm and dry. I love going out into these extreme cold temperatures and being able to stay warm, dry, and comfortable and for me that all starts with my feet. A good pair of boots are priceless. I've had OK boots before, but these are the first pair of really excellent boots I've ever owned.
