Just got this one running after some routine cleanup work on it. I don't think it had run in many years.

  • does that engine have a gas guage coming up out of the tank?

  • The guage you see is the oil guage. There is a needle with a cork float that goes up and down with the oil level. One half of the base holds gas and the other half holds oil.

  • sweet engine! looks like you have a heavy old hand truck like i do for moving them around! i have a small oak one on steel wheels i cleaned it up oiled the wheels and added a turnbuckle to balence the engine for me so i dont have to hold it while moving it around! makes moving the old beasts easy as cake!

  • That's exactly what the hand truck is for! Only problem with it is that it doesn't help me get them on the workbench any easier! The older I get, the heavier the engines seem to get!

  • What a nice little engine.

    How many HP is it?

  • It's 1-1/2hp. Thanks for the comment!

  • @Cletrac Wow thats cool, did briggs make an engine like that?

  • @Cletrac

dam that's it?????? i would have thought it'd be at least 3-5 hp

  • ill have to show mine! its all original! i found it in an open front shed in great shape! it still had the manufactures stamp on both sides so i inked the stamp and it came out great~ its made by nutting, its a very rugged truck. im guessing its from the 30's. someone replaced the steel plate on the bottom where you set the load on and its a bit smaller than id like for moving engines so i added the turnbuckle to balence them for me. but its nice and narrow so it fits about anywhere!
