  • Greatest movie of them all

  • @burnley5960 My sentiments exactly! Thanks so much for writing!

  • What is this old woman doing with Harry?

  • @Anzetseify Joan Fontaine was 10 years older than Harry at the time of this film. I'm sure the producers felt Joan was a "feather in their cap," having been an Academy Award winner for best actress in 1941 for "Suspicion." She'd already been nominated for "Rebecca," in 1940. Though they never really seemed to "cement" their relationship in the movie, I suspect she was doin' what came naturally! Who in their right mind, regardless of age, wouldn't have their nose open for Harry?

  • Many Trades years ago had Songs of some Kind.

  • Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics to this song-FISHERMAN'S SONG? Thank you

  • Isn´t Harry Belafonte not a great great rolemodel for all of us, who want to follow nature mothers voice and laws :-) That is true luxury. An island, coconuts, fruits Durian and singing healthy people. Free people! Happy active people! The African ancestors know better to live than the white pale race! Lets follow them NOW!

  • @varadero1839 Harry Belafonte PURE CLASS

  • @jguertin41 Sad that they found it necessary to cut certain scenes, but given the time and racism in Southern states, I'm not surprised. The astounding thing about this film, to me, was the incredibly beautiful cast! Aside from Harry and Joan, there were Dorothy Dandridge, Joan Collins, Stephen Boyd and John Justin. Very easy on the eyes! Thanks so much for your mention!

  • a Robert Rossen's movie "s Island in the sun " 1957 - Joan Fontaine - Harry Bellafonte
