  • A comment below incorrectly states that this movie was actually made in 1953. This is absolutely false. There is an abundance of documentation relating to the film’s production in the fall of 1956. To confirm the 1956 date for yourself, all you need do is watch the film. Early on, the narrator notes that the company has been in business for over 90 years. That claim could not have made in 1953. Also the flat-top can line that is featured in this segment of the film was not installed until 1955.

  • @OshkoshBeer Where in Oshkosh ,was the brewery located ??

  • @KoBKpskwor On the east side of Doty Street, just south of West 16th Avenue. The old, brick bottling house, built in 1879, still stands, but the main brewery is gone.

  • This film was made in 1953, not in '56. It is part of 4 hours of film made by a consortium of Oshkosh businesses in 1953 to highlight the town's businesses. The original film is in the Oshkosh Museum. The museum celebrated its centennial in the early 2000s and made a video lasting almost 2 hours by editing the original 4 hours.

  • @saramc38 The movie was filmed during October-December of 1956 by the Carson Company of Mason City, Iowa. It was shown on WBAY, Green Bay, in 8 segments beginning in April 1957. I’d don’t know where you’re getting the 1953 date from, but it’s not correct.

  • @OshkoshBeer Check with the museum. It's the exact same as the old tape that they put together for the centennial. It's possible that the Carson Company cleaned it up and remastered it, because the VCR is pretty poor but still the same! ???? :-)

  • @saramc38 Sorry, but that’s just not true. If you’d like proof, see the September 6, 1956 as well as the April 19, 1957 editions of the Northwestern. Both are available at the library. I also have correspondence from the company that made the film that was sent to the Oshkosh Brewing company that also confirms the 1956 production date.

  • @OshkoshBeer Watch the museum movie. The credit at the end is the Carson Company. Someone is fiddling with dates and/or remastering the film. Not you, but possibly the company for the TV broadcasts.

  • Seems like someone at the museum fudged the description of the movie they sold. Or some past curator didn't curate properly! What ever. It's odd that both films are exactly the same.

  • @TheBoehmerwald Made them shorter?
