Dr. Strange is a made-for-TV movie based on the Marvel Comics fictional character Doctor Strange, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. It was both directed and written by Philip DeGuere. Stan Lee served as a consultant on the film, which was created as a pilot for a proposed TV series.

I love how it transfers from the V'ger music of Star Trek: The Motion Picture to the sounds of the sleazy seventies...

I've read that, too, but Jessica Walter has said in interviews that it was only meant to be a movie, a one-shot deal.

@Reborn8303 from what I've heard, I think it was both a one off TV movie and if that was successfully then it would be called the pilot
