Phuket Diary Thailand

Phuket is first mentioned as a major source of tin in the sixteenth century when the island became an important source of revenue for the Thai kingdom at Ayuthaya, as well as an important trading post. It was also during this period that the first Europeans arrived on Phuket.

The best time to visit Phuket is during the cool NE monsoon season, from December through March (See photo Galleries December and January in Phuket), when it isn't so humid, and the cool breezes keep things comfortable. The average temperature is around 75F to 89F (24C to 32C). Note that lately, as almost everywhere in the world, weather is unpredictable.
