Established 1n 1859 and celebrating it's 150 birthday summer or 2009
You can camp just off the ghost town, Lots of activities for the family plan now to visit Quesnel Forks BC.
This Town was mostly inhabited by Chinese miners and has an energy you can still feel 150 years later.
Easy drive on paved road from Vancouver. Lots to see.

  • i think there is a real danger of over restoring these lovly old buildings i know some thing has to bo done but there is ai least one building early in the video that lookes ready to move into peaple dont wont to see a bright shiny penny they wont to see one thats been in the ground for fifty years at least thats my view nice place though

  • Hi Dean, Thanks for your comment, The Forks Suffers very harsh winters. Not much would be there to see if not for the current work done. The restoration will look old in no time at all. Lots to see that is as yet not been touched. If you visit the Forks you will see what I mean.

    Thanks again for your comment

  • I spent the summer of 1981 in the Forks...we owned the placer claim there and camped right at the forks of the rivers, I walked through this ghost town every day. We could see the chinese writing on the logs and thre was an old gold panner named Bill who lived in the cabin that's in your video, he was the only resident

  • I live there too.

  • I spent the summer there in 62 and the town still had a couple of residents. The Forks didn't resemble the restoration. Its nice enough what they are doing but its innacurate.

  • hey you live in Quesnel? Is there any gold there? :)

  • i left a bunch of beer cans there,,sorry

  • I actually did some shoveling last year by Quesnel Forks. It's amazing all the old gear and sites you find still now a days out in the bush. Very cool!

  • I Live In Quesnel...
