if you know center line or you just practice and karate can cooooooooooollllllllllllllllll
lllllllllllllll -
Bon sau isn't a block for me and directs energy to the side, let it go, dont fight force with force, just likely different lineage.

Very bad wing chun. Bong sau uses directs energy forwards (whyle guarding with wu sau) and not upwards.

Hi Paul
Thanks for your comment. I think maybe I should elaborate on my comment below (which I believe you are responding to). When I said that bong sau directs energy forward, I ment that the person executing it directs their own energy forward. The opponents strike will (like you rightly say) be directed to the side.
Is that what you meant?

Hi G6600
I agree that the Bong Sau directs energy forward, whilst Karate's Age Uke directs energy forward and upwards. The point that we were trying to make is that structually the blocks are very similar (apart from the direction of energy). By slightly adjusting the direction of energy, Karate people can gain the benefits of the Bong Sau and visa versa.
We believe that by looking for similarities we will learn more.
Best Regards
