The rules stat a referee can change his decision as long as he has not already started play. He never restarted play, so the decision was allowed to be changed. And changed correctly.

Well done to the referee, and most likely his assistant who I assume was probably the one who pointed the handball out!

The best thing for a ref to do in that situation is just to stand still instead of moving all around the damn pitch. Then just watch their reaction and they'll stop, instead of playing kiss chase
