@MadameLil it was probably due to outside pressure from church groups because of the video. I remember a lot of people getting needlessly worked up about the "irreverent" way that Biblical symbols were used. (As if the sight of a half-naked woman with an apple, or someone pretending to have devil horns would be enough to sway impressionable young teenagers towards a life of sin ...)
Back in the 80s, even just a whiff of blasphemy could doom a pop band. Not so much now though!

Definitely remember that Santa in the background. Don't remember it being played this fast.
WLS radio in Chicago dropped this from their playlist after a few weeks - it even said so on the printed Top 45 survey I might still have somewhere. I still have no idea why they would do that - record company problems? pesky fans requesting it a little too much?
