One drop of Cherokee blood makes you Cherokee. Oh yeah in case you missed African blood does not erase your Cherokee blood. Can you please tell me why I am ¼ Cherokee and was born on land stolen from the Cherokee Nation and cannot be a citizen of the Cherokee Nation while congress thinks people with no Cherokee blood should be? Umm, do I have a right to be upset? Do I want land or money from the Cherokee Nation? NO! JUST MY CULTURE THAT WAS STOLEN!

I agree, with one drop you are my brother or sister. No where in the constitution is anyone outcast for other heritage. It only REQUIRES Native American blood. On the rolls Freedmen are noted clearly as non blood members.

PrinceDimeXI, my grandmother is a black indian she married my grandfarther he is light brown and also of native american heritage. my family members are all light brown, with a couple of members being darkskinned. so native american and black people can produce light brown, or darkskin offspring.

ShyWolf6, so back then when indians and blacks were intimate and had children which resulted in light brown to dark skinned babies... should that baby not be able to follow and do the things of thier native American culture, as well as being proud to be black ? any native american that has a baby with other races, then that baby deserves to able to pratice thier culture period.
