  • Hold on...(just read some of the comments) since WHEN were you ever able to pause an ARCADE MACHINE??? Some of these kids on here just don't understand that you're not on XBOX, or PSN, you're playing the original GALAGA CABINET!!!

  • @deejaytai1 Thank you for watching. Hope you enjoyed it. I bought the arcade a few years ago. It takes me back to the 80's anytime I want. Its funny that I have 5 kids and my 3 boys are huge Xbox gamers but they still cant hang with me on Dig Dug, Galaga, Ms Pac Man, etc. They're always like, "these are such simple games, but so hard". I misquoted the level in the video. It was actually level 256 when it ended. Sorry to ramble on. Thanks again.

  • Sweet

  • No prob! My son has Ps3 and he plays HIS games but his buddies are always fascinated by the arcade machine. Mine has a working coin slot and I don't tell them it's actually free to play! LOL!!!

  • I'm a recently converted old-school gamer, built a MAME cabinet (gave my ps3 to my 8 year old daughter!) and I've NEVER seen this screen before. Thanks man!

  • games back in the 80s gave you more then your quarters worth in the arcades if you were good but games now adays if they have a ending or not are much shorter cost more and basically say shows over go home kid if you play it too long

  • wow man , awesome, thanks for the upload. I love this game at the arcade, but its good to know that the end it just freezes! I got to stage 12 on two quarters and got excited...lol

  • The reason it dies is because back then the memory limit was a lot lower than it is today. (8 and 16 bit vs 32 and 64 bit allocations) once you reach the 8 bit max (level variable) which is 255, you're on the last level allowed by memory. Once you beet it, it's like trying to add one to the last number in existence (assuming numbers were finite) You basically go over the allowed memory allocation, and the game blows up, as it did in your case. The scores are handled better apparently though (16b)

  • If you play on Rank D you can surpass Stage 255. Rank C shows Stage 0 and you can move around and shoot but nothing else happens. Not sure what difficulty setting you were playing on.

  • @gpdaddy1 that kind of sucks that you can't pause it :(
