Fine playing, and quite obviously a rehearsal. Anyone who plays the clarinet in public regularly will recognize the expression on her face at the end of this clip.
That lunge to her right is an attempt to get the concertmaster with her on tempo by getting in his line of vision.

she has the best sound of any player I've ever heard.

@cstathis15 Yes, her tone is remarkable.

that reaction is not about orchestra, just about her reed. when i talked with her she said that she absolutely didn't like this kind of videos.. and she is right!. because it's not official. i have rehearsal videos but never shared from anybody!. also weber concerto video on youtube, she said that her son watched and told her that it was great concert mom, then she schoked when she saw herself on youtube. :) i just wanted to share to you about her reaction guys.. have a good day!.

And the orchestra does definitely not follow her insane tempo.

@emeralddreams888 I also take Frost or Leister over Meyer any day.
-
@memphis148 They have completely different styles. Meyer's playing is very sensitive and has a classic German sound while Shifrin's sound is shinier and shows off more but I guess it's not as bad as Drucker.

@cstathis15 You obviously have never listened to david shifrin...
-
ich glaube sie war mit ihrem Blatt ganz am schluss nicht so ganz zufrieden :-D
-
Well is it just me or is the conductor sitting in a chair conducting with a slouched back?
-
@oldjarhead Id like to see you do half as good sitting still, with the music in front of you, and a metronome/tuner on the stand. Otherwise dont disgrace a genius with your mediocrity.

yes!!!!!!!!!!! I love it
Very nice to see her just rehearsing. Thanks for uploading!!

It's a basset horn, an "extended" clarinet. The Mozart clarinet concerto was written originally for this instrument.

It is not a basset horn, it is a basset clarinet. A basset HORN is pitched in F below this instrument, and generally has a curved metal neck and bell, much like the alto clarinet.
