  • There is of course the thought that these speed humps/cushions will prevent some accidents, thereby resulting in saving some lives (and reducing some of the need for emergency response vehicles.) The key is balance. We can't carry on allowing cars to race through our residential neighbourhoods. What about lowering speed limits in residential areas?

  • @skarpes Agreed...balance is a key. Our goal for the video is simply education. We want to show viewers how speed bumps can affect the response of emergency responders. They've since created different version of the bumps (off-setting for example) that allow for faster response by fire engines. Thanks for your comment.

  • A "choker" narrows the street more; in essence, you slow down because vehicles coming at you from the opposite direction are A LOT closer than they would be with a bike or emergency lane.

  • those humps also cause more fuel use cus of all the hard acceleration
