After watching the movie "Wanted", i downloaded Blender and this was my first model and animation. I'm not very good with textures, so any advice would be helpful.

Enjoy!

  • If this is really your first, you did a good job! The bullet trail can be made by creating two extra copies of your original scene. In one copy, you must create the glass sculptures that refract light. You can add motion to it if you want, but keep it simple for now.

Now duplicate that scene, and change the glass material to a texture: blend: sphere. Use an empty to affect where white is mapped to the sculpture. Use nodes to composite the scenes together to make the glass appear like a trail.

  • Thanks for the reply, when i get around to it, I'll make a new video.

    Thanks

  • Nice work man.

  • The white material works like an alpha mask letting certain parts of the glass structure appear. The white reveals, the black makes it invisible. I was forced to do my effect this way because Blender can only use one refraction value per object per frame. I needed to create the illusion of the glass fading into bending light more and more, then gradually bending light less and less until it is gone. The alpha mask (white/black object) scene does a pretty good job of this.

  • cool :D
