Filipino mayor 'supporting death squads' - 02 Mar 09

A local government in the Phillipines is accused by human rights groups of using death squads to kill suspected criminals.

The vigilantes have the support of some in the local community, who say the campaign is making their streets safer.

Al Jazeera's Marga Ortigas travelled to the city of Davao and spoke to the mayor who is said to be sanctioning the killings.

they let go some prisoners in der jail bcoz they used sme of them as gun men. the reason why some prisoners come and go in philippine jail. death squads arent clean, the purpose of it was to inflict fear by way of force and killings. the very reason of maguindanao massacre. total power over government and its poeple, its wat hitler had done. search hitler's death squads, the defference is philippine death squads use drugs and other stuff to cover der mess.

@podster12 Young Child? Im nearing 30. You might also want to know more about Hinduism in that Karma is basically your life's purpose, and NOT some kind of invisible force of divine vengeance.

The real problem, as you point out, is not just the criminals themselves, but the jail system which LETS THEM GO in the first place.

Even if you are older than me, you surely are not wiser. We have the same crap in the USA where jails let go of Sex Offenders and Murders, but not as bad as in Phil.

come here and compare metro manila and cebu to davao and you'll see, we from davao, would rather choose davao in mindanao than in manila and cebu. >:D

@PeoplesGeneral Please young child, take heed. You're the own who's not well informed about the criminals being killed here. They have been a 'repeating guest' in jails. Coming in and out of jails for about 3-6 times committing the same crime over and over again. They fill no remorse, they don't care who they kill or harm. This is what they call karma, I should say.
