500 Savage yards with a bolt launching 147 grain PMC FMJ ammo. This is not a ballistically efficient round but I wanted to give it a go out of the excellent Savage 10FP .308 gun undergoing testing in TNP. The target is a small polymer torso with the ActionTarget electronic readout (see my Actiontarget.com Shot Show 2011 video: ). It works reliably at that extended distance and is a lighter weight option than steel, an important factor in my rough terrain. This is a hard shot on a small target in field conditions. BTW this stage of shooting came after a full day of RunNGun with other systems. You can see how it turns out....

  • Hey nutnfancy, I'm planning on buying my first Savage (First rifle, really) in a few weeks and don't know if I should buy a hinged floor plate or a Detachable box magazine? What would you recommend for a beginner like me? (It's for hunting)
