@Fussinated cretans don't have their own language. their accent is a bit different like in thessaloniki and other cities in Greece. the official language is Greek. Everyday spoken language is Greek with some differences in the accent. i don't want to discuss anymore i'm greek you are turkish. i believe that cyprus is greek you don't. what you support is bullshit. crete is a greek island. period. there's no point of discussing that issue since whatever i'll say you'll say the opposite

@Fussinated are you serious? you are trying to teach me about my country? i'm living in cyprus and nobody fought ever against Greece. First civilized people here were Greeks, they hellenised the island, the greek identity,faith,culture, language remained. UK promised Cyprus to Greece but they didn't keep their promise, UN recognizes us as Greek cypriots. So, since we are the first here and we are the majority (85%) this island belongs to us (Greeks) so Cyprus is Greek

My granddad served in Cyprus with the British Army. Whilst he was there he took a camera with him and took several photos. These are at his house and there are some really nasty pictures there.

I understand settlers as well becoming part of the population. We have the same and I'm fine with that too. A huge number of our peoples have intermarried with other cultures, but wherever we go there is always, what we refer to as Nga Tangata Whenua - the indigenous peoples. In Cyprus the Tangata Whenua would be recognised as being the Cypriot people. Therefore, the rule should be Cypriots, owned Cypriots, governed by Cypriots for all the people, and yes same world over.

Wow what an absolute pack of wild savages you all are. The First people of the land of Cyprus is the Cypriots! I am (Maori) Tangata Whenua in our country N.Z. So many of you countries have indeed raped, pillaged, gushed Cypriot blood after Cypriot blood. im greek cypriot and these things happened in cyprus and its very good to see this for the youngers greek and turkish cypriots who nobody will tell them about this. and we all have to admit these things happen to maybe learn what happens if we cultivate hate nationalism and racism instead of teaching our children to respect each other and all people. we should not see this to hate the others but to condemn the people who did this because these are acts of cowards who should be executed
