The best part of this is, Roddenberry (the creator of the series if you don't know who I'm talking about) never denied them being in love :/

He once said "Yes, there's certainly some of that -- certainly with love overtones. Deep love. We never suggested in the series-- physical love between the two. We certainly had the feeling that the affection was sufficient for that..."

Pretty much, they were in love, but the time it was aired in wouldn't find it appropriate.

The scene from TMP was the first scene I had ever scene from the original cast and, had I not had previous Star Trek knowledge, I would have thought they were together. I mean, they were holding hands...

Star Trek: The Motion Picture Novel by Gene Roddenberry even has slashy moments like... Spock calls Jim T'hy'la and even has a letter from Kirk saying he 'was not aware of rumours' that they were lovers. He is in denial, all I can say!!!

This video was awesome!!! So many SPIRK moments it makes you think why don't they just kiss already!!!

Also, McCoy in ST:TMP in the scen you showed, looked at their hands and raised an eyebrow like, "FINALLY!"
