A demonstration of DLNA capabilities with my 46" LED 6900 HDTV and HT-W6930 Blu-ray 7.1 Surround Sound System. AV System Cabinet is a BDI Avion Series II 8927. -KNIGHT

This video was actually intended solely for my father, so if you dislike it I really don't care. Where do you get off anyway?

  • Nice setup.do you use western digital my world?how good is the streaming speed in comparison for example with the usb bideo playback?any problems?

  • @sprtn78 This was basically a DLNA set up using the Samsung PC Share Manager as a server. The whole network uses patch cord CAT 6 for connections, as streaming large (20+ GB) video movies would be futile through Wireless. Streaming speeds are great through 10/100 Ethernet speed. That's more than enough bandwidth for what it needs to do. No problems whatsoever with that setup. I just wanted more than what the limitations of DLNA could offer. As a result I now use a Popcorn Hour decoder.

  • @sprtn78 No I use MyiHome for the Popcorn Hour. I have a server set up with WD Green 3TB x 5 for videos and 1 SSD 64GB for OS.

  • @micron226 Nice video, what apps are you using on your droid for DLNA, and how do those remote programs I noticed work? Thanks

  • @pikappkicksass For DLNA I am just using the default program. However, the other programs you saw listed are only used when I have my computer connected through HDMI to the monitor or HDTV. They are great in their own respect and allow you to select folders and act as a remote control. For instance, the my remote app allows the phone to become a mouse pad and combine that with the app remocon plus grants you remote control ability for a number of window based media programs.

  • Never mind

  • @nolj67 Thanks for viewing and the compliment. The model number of the stand is in the description. The price is a little off putting but its worth every cent.

  • Hi,

can i ask this please !.

you have 2 media servers running...a windows thingie one, and the samsung provided.

you say that the windows one will not 'play' mkv but getting the file from the samsung media server will allo mkv playback !!!

am i right to understand that and if so why is this ! do the media servers do more than just 'share ' content ???

    Thanks,

    George

  • Hi, nice setup, have you considered in using a NAS for storing the movies instead of having your computer on? question: how good is the video quality with the mp4? Another one, do you know how to rip the video files with subtitles and second audio? I tried using an mkv file, but my Samsung tv (6050 series) did not support such file. Thanks.

  • i have no problem with streaming too through my router and a cable(not wireless), however when i try to fast forward the response is not very good and i have to wait 6-7 seconds before playing that is basicly my problem.much better response when a file is played through usb

(psi have a samsung c8000 led 3d tv)

  • Which media server did you use?
