Thanks for posting this highly educational series by the late Jacob Bronowski, Ph.D., which together with Carl Sagan's Cosmos and Kenneth Clark's Civilization, represent the triumphant triumverate of the human genius in the field of the sciences.

... Aha! Evolution in action @ 07:30... I always wondered where Simon Cowell's 'high-waisted' trousers came from :D
(& on a more serious note... and echoing other's comments... A super doc with super "Floydian" bits! :D)

This is one of the only docs i have ever seen with Pink Floyd in the soundtrack!

Thank you very much for uploading this absolute gem. I can't believe I haven't seen this until now, though I was only 2 when it first aired to be fair. It is so much more interesting than I'd imagined - a good companion to Carl Sagan's "Cosmos". Sure, 4 decades later our understanding has changed on some things, but for me this is so much more about the big ideas than the empirical details. Besides you simply can't beat the delivery of these old school characters and the 70s production values.

@awaben Same for me. See also the series CONNECTIONS by James Burke. These shows remind me of my father.

A few years ago, a friend of the family lent me the Bronowski's book to accompany the series.
Found the book really great, but I wasn't even born when the series went out - so big thanks for uploading!
Many thanks Paler. Watched this series as a boy and I think it gave me the basis of a world view that that has stayed with me all my days.
The thing that amazes me, though, is the small number of people that have viewed the series. Anyone out there that comes across this by chance, please, please take 57minutes out of your life and watch. you'll then find it very difficult to not watch the other 12. Truly great.

The "2001: A Space Odyssey" stretch around 32:00 to 33:30 is a hoot.
