I loved that about Jordan. He would get close to 50 and then stop scoring or leave the game because there was nothing else to prove. The older Jordan was also more accepting of the triangle; rarely did he force the issue in his later years. If Jordan really wanted to, he could have way more scoring records under his belt, but he cared for the win and the win alone.

yea lets not 4get that kobe only got 81 cause of 3seconds in the key rule and no handchecking rule,the nba is faster paced now Jordan in his prime in this era would avg 50ppg Jordan's high game was 69pts 17rbs 8ast a complete game by the greatest (almost a triple double)

Nice point. STAT ADDICT like Kobe in his 81 pts game against piss poor defenseless superstarless Raptors. Game was already lakers' with 20+pt going into 4th Q. Kobe at 61pts continues to jack up another 20 pts on top in whole garbage time 4th quarter.

forget dat. MJ if really wanted would've converted all his 47+pts games into 50 easily had he been more selfish.Kobe is a STAT ADDICT. MJ is opposite. Once he was in mid 40s, he shut himself down getting teamates involved.

Imagine all MJ 47+pts games become 50, forget Kobe, Even Wilt wouldn't match him.
