One of the first gameplay videos I uploaded (on the 23rd of March 2008, to be precise) was "Temple of Elemental Evil, Gameplay #1". To this very day it remains by far the most popular video on this channel (about 11,000 views at the time of writing); despite lacking both sound, high resolution and HD format. Now, a year later, I thought I'd follow up my classic "Gameplay #1" with a few more TOEE clips.

This first one is simply a test of my computer's ability to record the game in 1024*768 with FRAPS and, as you can perhaps tell, I'm using a generic party assembled from the characters which come with the game. For the purposes of future videos I'll obviously be creating my own party.

  • does this game let you pause during play and plan your attack like bg and iwd

  • @iFullMetalJacket It does much more than that; it's completely turn-based so there is no need for a pause option.

  • we went from classic games like this and baldurs gate to simple minded spoon fed crap like dragon age. Dragon Age is as deep as a kiddie pool and as easy as a crackhead whore on friday night.

  • @dwaynedibbly Well, the original release simply had lots of bugs and poorly implemented rules. The gameplay in both the patched and the unpatched version is identical, though, so adjusting to a fairly slow-paced turn-based style is something you'd have to do in either case...

  • Elmo and Otis FTW!

  • @Demiath care to explain why you wouldnt want to? I just started playing toee myself and I am still trying to get accustomed to this slow turn based style

  • fuck those fucking frogs

  • The changes are WAY too many for me to even begin to describe here (the list of fixes takes up about 20 pages in the release notes). It's simply a massive mod that gives you both better stability (=fewer crashes) as well as improved gameplay.

  • Thanks man. Also if you could give a small description of the changes ? ^_^

  • It's not difficult to find via Google but I'll post the link in the video description.
