@1976rlg I'm sorry, but which part of the birth of Christ from Mary don't you undestand? The Bible says so many times that the Eucharist (bread and wine) are the Body and Blood of Christ, but still many of our Protestant brothers don't accept it. Christ has never spoken clearer than that. I don't think there's place for us to argue, when the One who unites us went to the Cross for the entire world. Peace be with us!

@1976rlg Jesus is the eternal High Priest, mediating His once-for-all sacrifice for our redemption (Heb 3:1, 7:24, 9:12, 10:12), and yet Christians are also called to join in Christ's priesthood, as we have seen (1 Pet 2:5; Rev 1:6, 5:10).
Obviously, Christ is the unique and primary Creator, Shepherd, and Priest, but each Christian participates in these roles in subordinate ways.
By sharing Christ's divine life, Christians also share in Christ's role as the only mediator.
-
@1976rlg Yet we can share in that absolute Goodness: "Well done, my good and faithful servant" (Mt 25:23).
Jesus shares many of His unique roles with Christians in lesser ways. Jesus is the Creator of all things (Jn 1:3; Col 1:16-17), and yet He shares this role with men and women in procreation.
Jesus is the only Shepherd (Jn 10:11-16), yet He delegates this role to St. Peter (Jn 21:15-16) and later to others (Eph 4:11).

@1976rlg Likewise, there is no contradiction of 1Tim 2:5 if the saints in heaven intercede for us with their prayers.
All prayer, whether in heaven or on earth, is in Christ and through Christ, our one mediator and high priest.
The principle is this: although God alone possesses all perfections, we can participate in God's perfections by sharing in His divine life. For example, the Bible says only God is good (Mk 10:18).
-
We are called to unite ourselves to the one mediator Christ,
"who gave himself as a ransom for all," by praying for all men, through Christ.
Because Christians share in the priesthood of Christ, we share in a lesser and dependent way in His unique mediation, interceding for all men.
Fellow Christians on earth intercede for each other in prayer without contradicting the unique mediation of Jesus Christ.

@1976rlg 1 Timothy 2:5 must be understood in the light of 1Peter 2:5: "let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." St. Peter says that Christians share in the one, eternal priesthood of Jesus Christ.
Jesus is mediator between God and man because of His priesthood.
Therefore, to share in Christ's priesthood means to share in His mediatorship, both in heaven and on earth.

@junmeskie When Paul was on a mission trip and through the Lord healed a man lame since birth and the people began to praise them as if they were the Gods come as men they rent there clothes and cried out knowing this was blasphamus, they knew they were only men. Nowhere are we to hold men or women on a level Jesus Christ, so how can you pray to Mary or any other saint when the Bible Tells us Jesus is only the one who intercedes for Us to God the Father,

The term "co-redemptrix", then, would simply mean that Mary played a role in our salvation...which she clearly did.
It was her "yes" that allowed Jesus to be born among us.
This is the role she played.
"Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women and Blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus
Holy Mary Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Amen"
-
@1976rlg In order to understand the meaning of "co-mediatrix" or "co- redemptrix", you MUST understand the meaning of the prefix "co".
It does NOT mean equal. It simply means "part- of".
When Protestants complain about these terms, they generally mistakenly assume that they mean "equal to".
This is simply not the case.

I Feel sorrow in my heart for the misundaerstanding of scripture that the Catholic church does. Where in the Word of God does it say Mary gave us this gift of salvation.
Mr. Lewis, I am a Cradle Catholic and I left the Church when I was young only to Return 3 years. I understand COMPLETELY when you talk about the Richness and Depth of Catholic Theology. I came back to a Church I never Knew Existed. God is GREAT!! AMEN!!!
