hey Z, Im gonna butt in...even if it was "a marketing ploy" which I understand I know about basic music industry proceedure ...she still had to learn to sign to some extent... and thus gained alot of respect from Deaf people to some extent for that song being signed. I remember when she first released the song the Deaf unit in my school and myself were copying her from that day onwards ... so even if it was "marketing" its still good...she gained publicity through it yes but its still good.

Geri is beautiful and so cute person. Not to mention big philantropist. Geri is very underrated.
Love you, Geri so much

She did not realise of course, but she and the other Spice Girls (with Lift Me Up and Spice World Live) inspired me to research concert accessibility for d/Deaf Signers! Hopefully I will inspire someone myself at some point and eventually, more will realise that music is not the preserve of the hearing. Spice World Live was interpreted, which is why it inspired me!

Great sing language to help make deaf children and adults to understand the lyrics

I'm sorry to say it but yes. Did she sign any of her later releases? No, I guess it wasn't for the greater good of the world then...

so she just did it for publicity not to change the world in any way

We all know that Geri is queen of working the media. She used the 'signing' thing to attract attention to the song and sell more copies i.e. a marketing ploy. This is not a bad thing it's basic music industry procedure. Look at Me had the striking new image and Gingers funeral, Mi Chico Latino jumped on the latino bandwagon of that summer and had 'that' video and Bag it Up had the Brits and 'Girl Powder'.
Your Welcome
