  • Interesting to observe: Male dancers are wearing the same "tuxedo" costumes in this number, employed in Columbia studio's "Cover Girl" title number with Rita Hayworth two years earlier. They must have dusted off the lapels in the warehouse and reissued for this number,, perhaps to the same dancers?

  • @c3cubed Great comment. Magnificent observation. Thanks for watching. Charlie

  • @navydoctrinidad I'm a little less than 30 years your junior, but grew up loving the stuff of the studio era. And women were women, there was no confusion about that! I had a crush on Greer Garson when I was only 16 - but my favourite dancer will always be Cyd Charisse. Thank you for your reply. Nice to know others notice these things too.

  • @c3cubed Man, you have good taste also. Greer Garson. Always a lovely "Lady." Cyd Charisse. Wow. Tony was the luckiest fellow around when she told him yes. Thanks for your comments. Charlie

  • @navydoctrinidad Yes, Tony a lucky fellow, and the magnificent twosome actually must have set some sort of record by breaking the Hollywood rule of serial marriages - by actually staying that way to the end (!)

  • @c3cubed Beautiful, insightful comment. Thank you. Charlie

  • The real Jolson was just a human ball of performance dynamite!

  • Damn it Jolson! One of these days you're going to realise you can't sing your way out of all your problems.

  • in reality, al jolson rudely stood up and started singing interupting the performance there was need for him to do so

  • Great version -- He loved to entertain and you can hear it in his voice --Great song and clip from the film!!!! Thanks for the upload!
