I think the vampire in this are going back to oringal vamps, No lovely duvy shit, no sexual lust. Just hunger! going back to Bram Stroker before hollywood killed it. Vamps are primal yet increadibly intelligent! Look at things like the head vamp in this. No Love, No Humanity just death, mocking.
