This is wierd, you say vid of strikers, yet wrestlers like Henderson are involved, machida and shogun are bjj guys, aleks emelianenko is a sambo guy

@iGreekSalad Machida is a Karate guy, Shogun is a BJJ guy who strikes as well as he does ground, Aleks has a lot of T/Ko finishes, and Hendo is known for KO power as well. I didn't say they were "strikers only".

@LE0NSKA Yeah it's surprising how many people who are considered competent strikers got their start somewhere else. Chris Lytle was known for his brawling while he was in the UFC, but he was a JJ guy to start.

@dirtbagwhitetrash exactly. Some of the most successful mma strikers aren't guys with extensive striking backgrounds but grappling backgrounds (i.e. Emelienenko and Sambo or Diaz and BJJ) because they don't care if it goes to the ground. This is why Overeem, one of the most technical strikers in MMA looked bad against Werdum in striking-he was so worried about getting taken down he couldn't really work his striking. Good thign he's at Xtreme Couture now to perfect his wrestling. He needs it.

@scnarb Your right. You can't strike if you have the fear of being on your back. That is why guys known to strike like Penn, Diaz, Aldo, Anderson, Chuck, Vitor all make it work. They either have a guard or they know how to get back to their feet.

@iGreekSalad Whenwas the last time Machida won via submission? He's known for his Karate. Henderson wrestles but also does a lot of striking and is widely known for the "H bomb." Aleksander Emelianenko has way more TKO and KO wins then submission wins. Nobody is a pure striker or grappler in MMA.

Who the hell are you ? There're some Judo/BJJ guys who strike more than anybody ! And machida + shogun are two big strikers in the mma history ( machida probably the best with crocop ).....

@iGreekSalad u my friend are a dumbass... u might as well say anderson silva is a bjj guy, shogun is obviously muay thai type of guy with the clicnh that uses so effectively, hendersons right hand is now nicknamed the "H-bomb" he must have earned somehow, Machida is one of the most technichal fighters out there maybe boring at times but eventually he will land a counter that will devastate his opponents, and im guessing the only thing you have seen from aleksander are his sambo tournaments
