As much I do love Mao Asada as my second favorite Japanese figure skater, I could count Alissa in as a second favorite American figure skater, and placing Sasha in first. Had Sasha and Alissa both fallen less, they would have been the most successful figure skaters ever. However, I do believe that like Sasha, who fully redeemed herself when not competing, Alissa could do the same by following Sasha's example . Go Alissa!!!!!

Why do you guys hate Tara Lipinski? She was a really good skater. She retired after she won the gold, so what? Her parents had been kept apart for five years, she didn't really know her father, and going pro she could have fun with skating and not so much stress with competing. And the old "Lipinksi vs. Kwan" thing, let it go. They both skated clean, perfect programs, but Tara's was more difficult so she deserved to win, that was the tiebreaker for two amazing skaters.

I find it so hard to listen to American commentators. They vomit a bunch of information at you, thereby making it impossible to enjoy the actual performance. The Brits who cover skating for Eurosport are WAY better.
As for Alissa, it's too bad she had that fall on the lutz, because her skating is exquisite. She probably deserved bronze even with the fall! I have my fingers crossed that she'll be able to skate 2 clean programs at Worlds next year.

WOW! Her spins and spirals are by far the best in the competition. Her style is like ballet. Her jumps are getting better but she did a great job after a hard season last year. Shows determination
