@leonakita It's hard to ever quarrel with Brian Eno's contributions. I would have loved to see the greats live in their time at the peak of their creativity - originals one and all.

@MANHATTANBEEFMAN The Roger Powell live version has some interesting stylish synth addtions....but nothing beats the master, Brian Eno, on the studio version... IMO

I love how Bowie wasn't pushed to aside like other artists when Punk arrived. Just shows how relevant he was.

God I remember this tour when he played Glasgow.Thats the day my sister lost the spool for the grat photos that where took from row five.Man was I pissed off.

no more heroes any more!! class will always win,

@MANHATTANBEEFMAN i think the best version of "Heroes" was at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992 with Queen and Mick Ronson at the old Wembley Stadium. Bowie's vocal performance on that was god-like.

cosmichippoted(Nice moniker by the way) thank you for the upload, this is nothing short of absolutely fabulous! It is incredible to see Bowie come alive at Budokan! Also, he has quite the band! Especially a young Adrian Belew, all of them are just tearin' it up! Thanks as always to: You Tube for the space' and the genius and talent extraordinaire that is David Bowie, by all means, God Bless And Save Him! Rock On Shindigger Heroes, only if, just for one day!
@RyanInLA Bowie is iconic & transcends generations. Bryan Ferry is another example of excellence in live performance executions - it's often difficult to tell whether their studio performance is better than their live performance. They demand excellence in production & musicianship and have been rewarded with long, successful careers. Cudos to the greats!!!

You can find the best version of this song on Bowie's "Stage" album. Awesome sounding on a quality stereo system.
