Chris Webber travels then attempts to call timeout when they didnt have any.. this is the Ncaa Championship Game from 1993 Michigan vs. UNC.. North Carolina won 77-71
time out iz bout who's in taking time out, i'm tall but i dont play ball unless i'm spying outa space associated with some leagues so if any of me plays sports it's about spying because I'm a colonist not a federation, good thing we got ultra fleers
@aspectra I'm actually not a michigan fan, and i was born a year after this game took place so its not that, i just find the ruling completely ridiculous and it possible changed the outcome of that game
@Airman32292 At a high level of competition it is definitely inexcusable. If it was heat of the moment like you say, a lot more players would have pulled a Webber over the years. Some have, but none in games of such magnitude. Just signaling for a TO has the potential to cause brief confusion. Therefore, this rule is a fair one. You may be a biased Michigan fan, and I know this was a tough one to swallow, but the rule is 100% fair.
@aspectra yeah you can say its easy to remember youve used five, but in the heat of the moment if your in that situation you dont have time to think, you just react and call a time out, and also in clutch moments like that players really dont get distracted by timeouts, you see it in an close game down the stretch, even when a timeout is called they dont stop until the whistle is blown, maybe do something like they do with delay of game just a warning
@Airman32292 I would have to disagree with you, mainly because it wouldn't be fair to the opposition. The defenders have enough on their plate as is, and any TO all could cause a brief disruption of defense. There are only 5 timeouts in the game; I can count that high, and I'm willing to bet that even Derrick Rose can, too.
pass it to the white guy

I was actually rooting for Michigan to win this game, but I couldn't help laughing when this all went down.
