I ran an Orion Vortex 3.5T with an 11.1V LiPo in one of my XXCR's and the diff held up great
I can recommend the same setup I have.
Castle Creations Mamba Max (or the new Pro version) with 4600 motor for about $200. If you need a new radio, pick up a 2.4g from Futaba, Airtronics, Spektrum. $100-200
You also need a battery, and lipo is the way to go. A standard 7.4 volt pack will run the car 30-40mph. To go really fast, run a 11.1v or 14.8v like I did. You will need the Mamba Max Pro to do 14.8v.

your little mazda will go well over 65 mph. i mean, a lil ford ranger can go faster than that

yes it goes faster than that every day... but it can't do faster in the same distance as the 1/10 car was running :)

Hey, I have a Losi XX too. Do you know if its diff can handle a Mamba Max 5700 with 3s ?Or I have to make a steel diff ?
Pedrohlt 2 years ago
well, the xx diffs are just as good as any other, but a 5700 and 3s would be hard on it. Just make sure the slipper is doing it's job and the keep the diff tight so it's not slipping (which will make a loud "bark")

Garmin Etrex handheld GPS.... there are plenty of models to choose from. You can find them at sporting/hunting stores and sometimes at walmart/target etc.
You can also use a car GPS navigation unit. I have a Garmin Nuvi and I used it last time instead of the handheld hiking one.
They all have settings that record max speed and are easy to reset for each run.
