A cracking demo which shows how to make elephants toothpaste.
What happens when you add potassium iodide to hydrogen peroxide, plus a little washing up liquid for effect.
Hydrogen peroxide slowly gives off oxygen. The potassium iodide acts as a catalyst, speeding up this release. The effect is quite amazing.
Filmed in the science theatre at Techniquest in Cardiff. The presenter is Bryan Hatton.

Don't try this at home. Bryan is an experienced presenter, and is trained in handling chemicals.
