The Witch Song
The Witch Song

Chorus:
Who were the witches, where did they come from?
Maybe your great great grandmother was one.
Witches were wise, wise women they say,
And there's a little witch in every woman today.
There's a little witch in every woman today.

Witches knew all about flowers and trees,
How to use all the roots and the bark and the leaves.
People grew weary from hard-working days,
Witches made them feel better in so many ways.

Chorus:
Who were the witches, where did they come from?
Maybe your great great grandmother was one.
Witches were wise, wise women they say,
And there's a little witch in every woman today.
There's a little witch in every woman today.

Women had babies, the witches were there,
To feed them and help them and give them some care.
Witches new stories of how life began,
Don't you wish you could be one? Well maybe you can!

Chorus:
Who were the witches, where did they come from?
Maybe your great great grandmother was one.
Witches were wise, wise women they say,
And there's a little witch in every woman today.
There's a little witch in every woman today.

Some people thought that the witches were bad,
Some people were scared of the power they had.
The power to heal and to help and to care
Isn't something to fear, it's a treasure to share!

Chorus:
Who were the witches, where did they come from?
Maybe your great great grandmother was one.
Witches were wise, wise women they say,
And there's a little witch in every woman today.
There's a little witch in every woman today.

  • This song is so true and beautiful, though also pretty sad if you think about how the people thanked them for all the help. Bad baseless rumors was the least harmful, if it came really bad they where drowned or burnt.. How can people be so cruel against people who wanted nothing but help them ? That shows how rotten christianity really is, and how bad an influence christianity is.

  • I am a man and a Wiccan and Solitary Witch too.

    Blessed Be!

  • wonderful, though i am stuck thinking now bout a video clip used, from 1:04 to 1:20 ive seen it in another music video, i just wish i could remember the artist or song lol

  • OMG! i used to sing this in class with our awesome teacher, Mr. Baker!

Mr. Baker, wherever you are, i hope you're comfortable. You brought so much to the lives of us children!

  • love this

  • Beautiful song! Blessed be!

  • @MrRichardQED Most of the Christians I know are very kind and accepting of my religion, but you're right. People have twisted the teachings of a good man into a weapon that they use against people they don't like. But it's really a 50/50 thing. Christians can be the nicest people or the most hateful. Quakers and liberal Baptists are wonderful people. Foot-washers on the other hand...

  • @CarFox6 Jesus legitimately believed that he was helping people, and that in order to help people, they had to believe in him.

I didnt say jesus or his teachings where bad, some of them really make a lot of sense, BUT what people later made out of that, the religion of christianity, now that was really bad and rotten from within.

  • @MrRichardQED Those events are not Christianity's fault, they are the fault of people who used the Bible as a weapon. I'm not Christian (really), but I don't think any religion is bad at heart (except maybe Satanism, but that's largely been blown out of proportion). Jesus legitimately believed that he was helping people, and that in order to help people, they had to believe in him. Now that might not have been true, but that's what makes Christianity different from Taoism and Buddhism.
