@gunnerclark -- the only power tools you need are a jigsaw and maybe a drill. The rest is just measuring, drawing lines and screwing things together. The irregular shape inside will help to mix the material when you rotate it. With one barrel the contents are apt to slide instead of to tumble.
I think the hardest part of a project like this is finding the barrels in the first place!
Higher off the ground so a wheelbarrow can fit under, and a crank might be nice upgrades for V2. Good job.

fantastic!

It seems complex when just a one barrel design would be easier for the mechanically uninclined.
Very cool...You should build the base 2 foot taller so you can put a wheel barrel under it when emptying.

@Z3Carpentry I put a small tarp under when emptying and pull the pile out and over to where I want it and then roll it out, simple.

Very nice. It would be helpful to get a bit better look at the design. I have used SketchUp which is a great tool, but haven't got a clear visual sense of how the barrels fit together.

@ndktube hold your fingers up and inside out then interlock your fingers that how the notches interlock on opposite sides - then i fixed a strip inside the barrels on all sets of interlocking tabs, this locks them all together.
