Based on a Jewish folk-tale, SOMETHING FROM NOTHING is the story of a young boy's special relationship with his grandfather.
When Joseph is born his grandfather makes him a wonderful blanket. As he grows up the blanket gets ragged and torn but rather than part with it he takes it back to his grandfather to fix it. From the remains of the blanket his grandfather makes a wonderful jacket. In time the jacket too wears out and becomes a wonderful vest. The story continues in this way until there is only enough material left to make a wonderful button. One day the button rolls away and is lost. The grandfather regretfully tells the boy that "he cannot make something from nothing". Still not discouraged, Joseph realizes that there is still one more thing that he can make... a wonderful story!
