I read around the time that the Secret Story CD was release, which has on it the two songs I mentioned earlier, that his longtime fiancée had broken off their engagement and out of a broken heart inspired him to write "Antonia" a beautiful heartfelt song. Now I am not sure but I believe the song in this video out of all the songs in this concert is the only one he has not release on CD. I wish he would because this song is genius like all of his music and this concert performance was brilliant.

Metheny is a freeking genius! Love the Jazz dance too! Undoubtedly the superior form of Western dance today.

I remembered this first aired back in 1991 on the Bravo Channel when it used to be the Performance Arts & Concert Series channel before switching to a reality tv show format. I recorded the entire show on VHS. I loved all (3) pieces: The Swing Jazz Dance; Appearance; Adieu...the last (2) major performances on Adieu with the lady in the red dress dancing to Pat Metheny's "Antonia" and the ballet number to "The Truth Will always Be Revealed" is incredible and so emotional.
