Also does anyone know the name of the song that the fiddler plays when the young soldier is dying and Inman in sitting with him? I love that song but can't find it anywhere!!

The real song is called 'Idumea' it's a hymn written by Charles Wesley (who wrote Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.'

it's a beautiful hymn about death. I have words from it as a tattoo.

wow.... this is really...really Beautiful, i guess this old rock and roller (44) must be changing... just a bit. i remember the movie, i had just lost someone and i remember this movie being a little hard to watch.... i think i will watch it again, now.(netflix ?) i found this music because it was what was next on youtube after i Searched- " Prinsessalle " a very Haunting song from a Finnish made film called "Prinsessa" (subtitled) about a woman in a insane asylum... not english, but beautiful
