The bottle breakes because of the vacuum at the lowest end of the bottle. The bottle gets knocked down and the water creates a vaccuum. When this vacuum closes the water hits the bottom of the bottle really hard and makes it break. Look at the Time Warp thingy.

right then people the way it ACTUALLY breaks the bottle is that the water jumps and breaks it like a hammer.This also works better if you leave 2 inches of air so it has more striking distance ...... TRY IT

@shoopt3hwoop Uhh...no. The speed of your hand pushes enough air into the bottle to over take the amount of space left above water. That air pushes the water down breaking the bottle.
