Fischer is the greatest chess player of all times. He would have beaten any computer or person. Such a genius will never be born again. He should get recognition by making a big statue of him in New York.

@doobydooby223 My thoughts as well. There will always be someone better as time goes forward, due to studying those who went before and with the help of modern technology. Worst thing to happen to chess was the computer.

Bobby didn't have a state chess machine behing him. He didn't have computers to give him a training advantage.
Fischer is the greatest ever and, now that computers have ruined the professional game, he will always be the greatest.

Fischer I believe is the better "player".. what I mean is showed the most imagination and with that introduced much more than Kasparov did. Kasparov's strength came from deep knowledge of openings and history. One of my favorite Einstein quotes is "imagination is more important than knowledge." So perhaps Kasparov could beat Fischer, but Kasparov could have not done it WITHOUT Fischer.

When fischer left the game two soviet players had a plus score against him, geller and tal. Personally i think he was afraid of a looming karpov on the horizon who was regularly beating both tal AND geller. Im NOT knocking fischer, as i'm a great fan of his style AND games, but after studying thousands of games from history's 'chess titans(morphy, bronstein, tal, capablanca, alekhine, smyslov,karpov, petrosian etc), for me kasparov is, in my opinion, the greatest of all time.
