  • @tish, you will probably be using a goat skin, so the soak time will be 1 to 2 hours, when you can pick it up and wring it, it will pliable, towel dry it, make sure you have excess skin overhang, when you start, start tacking it and streching, the skin should not split, but i would buy and extra skin just in case..after tacking, cut off excess skin, let dry in shade, for 48 hrs, good luck and take photos..

  • I finished all 3 congas, and a lp galaxy with confort curve, checkout my facebook fan page, Bongowillie to see photos and more event videos, and youtube videos 54 so far

  • Thank-you for posting this video. I have to put a skin back on my bodhran but didn't know how long to soak it. If you get it on too tight while it is wet as it dries, correct me if I am wrong, can't it split? How do you know how tight in the wet stage? You said put it outside to dry....how long and do you put it in direct sun or shade?

    Thanks again, Tish

  • Thank you for this FYI - quoted from 3:55 "The skin was bought on Ebay .... Sinclair Sound ... for 27.99, $10 shipping, .... no identification marks, just conga skin."
