I-35W Design Visualization

The North Tarrant Express is dedicated to improving mobility along north I-35W, northeast I-820 and SH 121/183 Airport Freeway through a regionally supported managed lane system.

This visualization was presented to the public on Dec. 15, 2011 at the public hearing for I-35W from I-820 to SH 114 (Segments 3B & 3C). It shows the ultimate configuration of the project, however, it has not been fully funded.

@jmadrid41 The core application behind the production of this visualization is Autodesk® 3ds Max®.

From a driver point of view, this will be the mother of boredom highway. All the cars move with the same speed on all the lanes, automatically this will cause BIG traffic congestions.

@KurodaSenpai I'm glad you like the visualization--I think it's helpful to understand projects when they're shown like this. Also, the goal is to keep all the traffic moving at or around the same speed, so that's a good thing!

I hope they put more on ramps to the north bound lanes. No on-ramps after Western Center until you get to Heritage Trace seems a little dangerous to the "community" that has developed or will develop there.
