Further to our conversations and my presentation to your Council meeting on Friday 27th regarding the Beachmere Lake fish kill;

1. I make it very clear; the prime cause of the fish kill is AMMONIA toxin sourced through the pumping effluent of substrate water and releasing it back into the lake. And all of your employees should be made aware of this blunder so it will never happen again. It was obvious to me at your meeting; - Those academics present at the meeting who were responsible for allocating the contractors to go into the area and to pump out 'substrate' water and to release this poison back into the pristine lake were completely oblivious of the dangers in issuing such orders to sink deep holes to accommodate the sewerage overflow tanks. These persons may have "book-knowledge' of engineering but have NO PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE in evaluating what is needed to preserve healthy marine life.

2. Oxygen was not the prime cause of this fatality, but oxygen became depleted owing to decomposing fish and detritus matter . Fish that have been traumatised by this toxin generally die because their gill tissue is damaged and they no longer have the ability to absorb oxygen. Most of the fish will die and forcing air into the lake now will have little effect as it's too late.

3. OTHER POTENT CAUSES OF FISH KILLS IS MONSANTO GLYPHOSATE "Roundup" that has been indiscriminately sprayed in gutters and catchment areas by council contractors, and farmers resulting in the poison being washed into the river and area creeks by rain, then the fish kill will emerge some hours later after the rain. It is Glyphosate that has caused the destruction of the marine life and the bleaching of coral. It is Glyphosate that has caused the destruction of the 'aquatic plant-life' in Moreton Bay and the subsequent loss to the area of many Dugong and loss of healthy evironment to sustain prawns and crustaceans. Glyphosate is responsible for killing out algae spore which is also part of the initial food chain needed to sustain the newly hatched fish fry. With the main spawning habitats destroyed; Fish populations in Moreton Bay are now severely reduced as a consequence of this use of Glyphosate. Remedy: - BAN THE USE OF 'ROUNDUP' and chemical effluent into the Bay and the previous massive fish population and the Dugong will return.

4.. The remedy of the Beachmere lake is to pump in water and to 'flush' out the lake immediately and ensure a proper tidal circulation flow is reintroduced. Otherwise install a fountain in the centre to circulate the water.

5. The blocking off of the water from the adjacent breeding habitat of the swamp mangrove area is blatant ecosystem vandalism and is responsible for the enormous loss of fish stocks in the region, if a private corp did this, there would be enormous retaliation by EPA and millions $$$$ fines imposed.
