While many artists are cancelling their schedules in Japan because of apprehensions about frequent after quakes and difficulties to control the nuclear plants, Placido Domingo gave a performance in Tokyo. He sang "Furusato" as an encore, expressing his great concern to suffers of the recent great quake. "Furusato" means one's home land, and is known to every Japanese as a song. It resembles "Home Sweet Home" and "Home on the Range" in spirit. 東日本日本大震災の余震が収まらず、原発事故収束の見通しの立たない日本での公演をキャンセルするアーティストが続出する中で、三大テノールの一人プラシド・ドミンゴさん­は４月10日にNHKホールで3000人の聴衆を前にコンサートを開き、被災地日本への思いを込めて『ふるさと』を歌いました。

This song almost makes me cry! <:') I have no words to express how moving this is. There was no dry eye in that audience. (I would have been bawling my eyes out if I was there!) My heart goes out to those who lost their families in that terrible earthquake.
