@jdessell "suck 'em up" is a local slang for drinking, usually beer

Hopefully he got a chance to hit those two chicks at 0:48 after the show.

Kui Lee wrote that tune.

Golly, I remember the Don Ho and The Alii's dinner show at Duke,s in the International Market Place in Waikiki. Dinner and a grand show was under $2.oo back in 1965!!!

Great song! Great video! R.I.P., Don Ho....you will always be remembered.

the young Don Ho was amazing. It sounds like the Aliis are in the background. Heard them 1970-1971 at the Old Hilton Hawaiian Village before it was all changed with the new entrance et al.

such a good feel good song... plus a great "lets drink" motivational song...

"LIke 'ka pipi' stew." "Ka pipi" in Hawaiian is Cow or beef. It's how we say beef stew sometimes.

I remember dancing a hula on my 15th birthday. It was also my sister's graduation night and our mom wanted to see Don Ho. She sent a note to have Don and the Alii's sing happy birthday, also to have me dance a hula for my sister. That was way back in 1964. this is a wonderful memory for me to have.
